Professor Doctor Matthias Prinz
After his graduation from Hamburg University Law School, Prof. Dr. Matthias Prinz worked as an assistant at the Institute of International Private and Litigation Law at Hamburg University Law School. He holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (1983) and has been a member of the New York bar since 1984.

In 1985 he completed his Doctorate under the supervision of Professor Hein Kötz, who was the director of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign Private and Private International Law at that time, and is today the principal of the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. In the same year, he was admitted to practice in Hamburg and founded our law firm with Ms. Sabine Neidhardt.

Prof. Dr. Prinz is one of the most prominent attorneys in Germany. He is known for his very successful litigation practice and many important precedents, that have changed the german law over the last two decades. He has appeared before the German Federal Appeals Court, German Federal Constitutional Court and the European Federal Supreme Court for Human Rights, the highest courts in Germany and Europe. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Prinz has published more than fifty articles and two books concerning different aspects of law.
